Dreamland

2009

  |

89 minutes
Stunningly filmed, DREAMLAND gradually turns a pastoral land of abundance into a disturbing picture of corporate power taking over small communities and the country of Iceland itself, as politicians and businesses try to lure aluminum production to the island country, on the cusp of its greatest economic crisis. Based on the book “Dreamland: A Self-Help Manual for a Frightened Nation” by Andri Snær Magnason, featuring a beautifully composed soundtrack by Valgeir Sigurðsson.
