Oren Jacoby - "Constantine's Sword", Director/producer/writer

Oren Jacoby is a native-born New Yorker and attended Brown University, RISD and the directing program of the Yale School of Drama. Jacoby is an Oscar-nominated filmmaker who has been creating award-winning films for over 20 years. He has created documentaries for numerous organizations including BBC, ABC, HBO, PBS, National Geographic, VH1, and NHK (Japan).

One of his latest films, “Sister Rose's Passion”, was the winner of Best Documentary Short at the 2004 Tribeca Film Festival and was nominated for an Academy Award in 2005. In addition to these prestigious honors he has won CINE Golden Eagles, The Royal Television Society (UK) journalism award, and the MacArthur Folden Owl award.

Some of his most notable works are “The Return Ticket”, “Ghosts of the Bayou”, “Idols of the Game” (featuring Michael Jordan) and “The Second Russian Revolution,” which the London Independent calls “the best BBC series of the decade.”

Jacoby's “Constantine's Sword" won the Maverick Award for Best Editing for a Feature Documentary at WFF, and received an honorable mention for The Maverick Award for Best Feature. He is currently producing “The Italian Secretary”, based on the novel by Caleb Carr, and “The Marquis de Lafayette” (working title). He has also just completed “The Last Girl on Earth”, a romantic comedy based on a screenplay by Richard Dresser.
