Paola Mendoza & Gabriel Noble
"Autumn's Eyes"

Paola Mendoza co-helmed Autumn’s Eyes, a feature length documentary about a 3-year old girl who tries to navigate herself through the harsh reality of severe poverty, her teenage mother’s incarceration and looming foster care. Autumn’s Eyes made its world premier at the 2006 SXSW film festival. Ms. Mendoza also directed a short documentary, Still Standing; about her grandmother trying to put her life back together after loosing her home to Hurricane Katrina. Still standing made its world premier at this years Full Frame Film Festival. She is currently developing a narrative feature about the struggle of an immigrant mother and her two fatherless children during their first years in the United States, which will mark her directorial debut. Ms. Mendoza is also producing a feature documentary for NetFlix: King of All Nations directed by Michael Skolnik (On the Outs, Hooked: The Legend of Demetrius “Hook” Mitchell). Paola, also an actress was last seen in the critically acclaimed feature film On the Outs, which she also co-created. Ms. Mendoza received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress from the Method Film Festival for her portrayal of a 17-year-old mother addicted to crack cocaine in On the Outs. On The Outs was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award, Gotham Award and was a recipient of the Audience and Jury Awards at the 2005 Slamdance Film Festival, as well as the Jury Award at the 2005 Deauville Film Festival. She will next be seen in the feature film Padre Nuestro directed by Christopher Zalla’s a Spanish language drama about immigrants crossing the border looking to make a better life for themselves in NYC. She is currently starring in One Night an independent feature film directed by Michael Knowles about single New Yorkers looking for love in all the wrong places. Paola received her Masters in Fine Arts from Sarah Lawrence College and her BA from UCLA. She is repped by Rachel Sheedy of Don Buchwald & Associates and Lillian LaSalle of LaSalleHolland.

Ever since Gabriel Noble graduated from UCLA with a BA in Theater, Film, and Television, he has worked as a director and producer of theater, documentary and feature film. As a student he founded and served as Artistic Director of Equal Opportunity Productions (1997-2003), a non-profit arts outreach organization whose mission was to use the theater arts and film to empower youth in Los Angeles, Cuba, and South Africa. In 2003, Gabriel served as Assistant Director on two narrative films, On The Outs, a feature film nominated for IFP Indie Spirit award, Gotham Award, and recipient of the Grand Prize Slamdance Festival 2005, and Victoria Para Chino, recipient of Honorable Mention Award at the Sundance Film Festival, 2005. In addition to co-directing/producing Autumn’s Eyes, he is currently directing, P-Star’s Redemption, a feature documentary about a 9-year old girl rap phenomenon from Harlem who is fulfilling her fathers dream of making it big in the music biz. Additionally he is producing Death of Two Sons, a political, spiritual, and personal exploration of the death of Amadou Diallo, a Guinean boy who was gunned down by the NYPD, currently in post-production for HBO. Gabriel is the Field Producer for the CNBC show, D-Life, and a cinematographer for both television and feature documentaries.
